20-Yard Roll-Off Dumpster

The 20-yard dumpster is a great choice for medium-sized renovations, roofing jobs, or yard cleanups. It holds around six truckloads of material, making it versatile for various home improvement projects. Your Next Steps

What to Do

01

Do your research and place an order!

Take a close look at what size you need and what materials you will be disposing of. Then place an order on our website, or give our sales team a call for special enterprise rates if you’re a contractor or an estimator.
02

Prepare for your dumpster delivery.

Dumpsters need to be placed on a solid, flat surface. If you are a homeowner in New Jersey, you will need to contact your local city hall for a permit if you plan to place the dumpster on the street. If you plan to place it in your driveway, we encourage you to place thick plywood down to protect your concrete from the dumpster’s wheels. We will not place a dumpster in or near a fire hydrant. Make sure the entire area around the dumpster is accessible and safe.
03

Toss out your debris!

Here is a guide for what materials we accept and those we don’t. Toss out your debris - but careful not to overfill your dumpster! All materials need to fit safely inside, with nothing hanging out or piled up above the edge.

04

Confirm your pick up.

Ready to go? Check your pick up date if you’ve already scheduled it! Otherwise, give us a call and we’ll help you. We are unable to give you an exact time for pick-up due to the changing nature of our schedules and traffic. But we will send you an ETA text when we’re on the way!

FAQs

The size of the dumpster you need depends on the type and scale of your project, as well as how often you’d like us to empty it. Here’s a quick guide to help you choose:

  • 10 Yard Dumpster: Ideal for small cleanouts, minor home renovations, or heavy materials like concrete, masonry, and soil. A 10 yard dumpster holds about 4 pick-up truckloads, or 60 contractor style trash bags.
  • 20 Yard Dumpster: Best for mid-sized construction jobs and renovations, or heavier demolition debris. A 20 yard dumpster holds about 8 pick-up truckloads, or 120 contractor style trash bags.
  • 30 Yard Dumpster: Perfect for large construction sites, major home renovations, and demolition projects. A 30 yard dumpster holds about 12 pick-up truckloads, or 180 contractor style trash bags.

If you’re unsure, our team can recommend the right size based on your project details. Just give us a call, and we’ll make sure you get the perfect fit!

The cost to rent a dumpster depends on several factors. Here’s what typically affects pricing:

  • Dumpster Size: Larger dumpsters cost more due to their capacity. A small 10-yard dumpster will cost less than a 40-yard dumpster.
  • Weight of Debris: Certain materials, like concrete and soil, can affect the price due to their weight.
  • Rental Duration: Does your project need one drop off and pick up, or will your dumpster need to be emptied frequently?
  • Location: Prices vary depending on your proximity to our service area in NYC and Northern New Jersey. Local fees and permits may also impact the overall cost.

To get an accurate quote, fill out our online form or contact us with your project details, and we’ll provide a competitive, upfront price with no hidden fees.

The most common surcharges are due to weight or an extension of the rental time. All potential surcharges are disclosed on your invoices and receipts. They are also disclosed on the website prior to processing your payment. You will not be charged any hidden fees. You will be notified of any and all potential surcharges.

Anyone can get a quick quote directly from our website in minutes, or you can contact our team directly via phone or email to talk through the details of your project. We recommend contacting our team if:

  • You are a large-scale contractor looking for a quote with enterprise rates.
  • Your project has specific or particular requirements, and you want to make sure we can handle it.
  • You are looking for rates on disposing of hazardous materials.
  • You are not quite sure what you need, and you want a second opinion to give you confidence.

Yes – but! Mixing most materials in the same dumpster is perfectly fine, however there may be times when it is in your best interest not to. For example:

  • Keep in mind that heavy materials such as concrete, soil, or masonry can cause you to go over the maximum weight and result in surcharges.
  • Certain materials, like excessive amounts of drywall, are better separated so they can be better recycled. But it’s up to you if you want to!
  • Hazardous materials cannot be mixed with non-hazardous materials. Please contact us if you know or think you may be disposing of hazardous materials. If you do not disclose hazardous materials, you will be fined.

We service all 5 boroughs in NYC, and most counties in Northern, NJ. See our full list of areas we serve here.

  • For homeowner projects in NYC, we will supply the street permit. Please give us at least 24 hours notice before your expected delivery date so we have time to acquire the permit. Contractors must acquire their own permits.
  • If your project is in New Jersey, we are unable to obtain permits on your behalf. You will need to contact your local city hall and request a permit to park a dumpster in the street.

  • If you order your dumpster online, you will pay via credit card or ACH directly from our website.
  • If you order your dumpster via phone or email, you will be sent a PDF quote via Docusign where you can pay with a credit card or ACH payment.
  • If you are a large contractor and require a purchase order or a different method of payment through your accounting department, please contact our office to set up your payment before placing an order.

No. We do not provide labor to move items. All items are expected to be inside the dumpster when we arrive for pick-up. The dumpster cannot be overfilled or overflowing for the safety of our drivers, other motorists, and pedestrians.
